SarahSleeve 170 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) Yes my pain today is awful and sorry to be to explicit but I'm passing gas and it feels so good lol cause all the air inside Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I don't know about anyone else, but being pre-op I want as much information as people want to offer, explicit or not. Sorry you're in pain today, hopefully you'll wake up tomorrow much more comfortable Edited April 6, 2016 by SarahSleeve
kjwrn 129 Posted April 6, 2016 All in all it hasn't been too bad. The pain is still worse than immediately post op, but I know that is because the doctor put a lot of numbing medication on the incisions before they close them up! When I got home last night, I had actually gained 11lbs while in the hospital. Which is about right, I know my surgeon told the anesthetist that he wanted me to have at least 3 Liters of IV Fluid during surgery, and each of the bags weigh 2.2lbs, plus I was hydrated withIV fluids pretty strongly while I could t have anything the first day, so I had about 5-6 liters of fluids total. I imagine if you had any sort of heart, kidney, lung or liver problems you would not get that much hydration, but I am luckily still very healthy, just morbidly obese. I did buy these compression tank tops at Walmart before surgery, they are kind of like Spanx, but it is a spaghetti strap tank top with bra pads sewn into it but no underwire. They were a little tight to put on, but I feel like them being tight on my stomach helps a lot with the incisional pain.
