lamuirbr 1 Posted April 4, 2016 I had my surgery 3/28/16 and the first couple nights I had no problem sleeping. Now for the past 3-4 nights I will sleep 3 hours and wake up WIDE awake and can't go back to sleep. In fact it's 3:40 am and I can't sleep....ugggg. I don't nap during the day, so I know that's not it. I stopped taking my pain meds the 2nd day after surgery and I know if I took it before bed it would knock me out but I'd rather not do that. I've never had a problem with sleeping like this before, anybody else experience this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
cdeisroth 420 Posted April 4, 2016 The exact same thing happened to me. I had my surgery on 3/14. It lasted about two weeks, until I went back to work.
Micoxv 276 Posted April 4, 2016 Got my sleeve done on 3/22 and I wake up very early around 4 or 5 am no matter what. I can't go back to bed and I am not a nap adept. Luckily I don't feel a lot more tired yet.
Dyros 32 Posted April 5, 2016 Have you checked your Iron levels? Insomnia could be a side effect of anaemia

lamuirbr 1 Posted April 5, 2016 I prayed to Jesus and he answered! He has no favorites. If you ask he will definitely help! I will pray for you as well, and I believe tonight when you go to sleep you will have a full night of goooood sleep!
