@TheRealMeIsHere!, I get the general idea of the pre- and post-op pics, but not sure of everything going on there because of the bruising. Have you since had a belly button fashioned or are you Eve incarnate? Or was it done along with everything else?

belly button was moved to the proper position at the same time

I liked my recliner/zero gravity chair post lower body lift. If you are in bed...pillows help to semi recline.

I did not experience much pain at all, but I was admittedly in the clinic and well medicated the first 3 days post op.

If it's any consolation, both my recent kidney stone and the wound complication(thigh!) I experienced this year were WAY more painful than the lower body lift from 2013. I did spend alot of time walking slowly like a 95 year old arthritic woman (those were doctors orders!) Took awhile before I was standing straight!

Good luck and remember it will be so worth it and the discomfort will soon be q distant memory.

@@Elode so you and i have had chats about your Plastics.... and i know you are going to come through this like a champ. I know i have mentioned this before, but if you have a recliner... sleep there or up on the couch. The bed was difficult for me. My TT was so tight that lying down was the worse. Remember the C-Sections... how sitting up was the best.... Same thing doll.

You are going to look so freaking amazing...(you already do). I am super excited for you. Remember the giant kotex (placed them on top of incision for comfort), and keep that compression garment on (i felt better when my stomach was compressed).

@@Threetimesacharm I've already researched hers and they seem to be the round shape. I saw one she did 12 days ago and it was round. She said that people always remark about how great her belly buttons turn out. I will just be glad to see one. Mines been hidden in fat for years! Time to free the little sucker! Lol!

@@CowgirlJane I never realized how painful they could be until I did some reading of stories. I won't get to stay in the hospital but she did give me a script for 4 mg dilaudid which if you didn't know is an extremely powerful narcotic. Stronger than morphine so I'm a little scared of it. She gave me 50! Plus Xanax for anxiety, antibiotics, nausea meds & muscle relaxers. I think I'm going to be knocked out!

@@Elode

You will love your new look! I was also not excited before plastics, lol. People kept saying "omg aren't you so excited" and I was like, "um no I'm terrified, but thanks". I had not really thought much about the belly button but the one I ended up with looks just like the original one, so I guess my surgeon was awesome at that part too. You really won't be able to see the final result for months. While I liked my original result, I looked like a big, swollen, sausage for two weeks or so and then the full swelling, especially around my hip area wasn't gone for 2-3 months. You're already thin, so with the skin removed, you will be thrilled. Being able to wear tight, sheath dresses and high-waist dresses without every worrying about a gut is awesome.

I would say enjoy the process, haha, but the first 2-3 days are crummy. Day one you feel great, day two you feel like you got hit by a truck, day three you consider dying...and then it's all uphill from there. For me there was very little pain, I was just exhausted, which I guess is what happens when your body thinks you were just massively injured and it needs to get in high gear to fix you.

Good luck!

@@AvaFern I'm glad you get my less than thrilled emotions! I start to get pissy when people say "you're so lucky" I'm like oh yea? You think so? Lucky would have been NOT ever being fat and having to me cut up multiple times! Lucky would have been naturally being thin with a nice body. While rare some have it and it seems like those are the people who find me so "lucky". Soooooo instead of getting mad I choose to think what they really mean is since you were once fat (for years) and had 3 kids with 3 c-sections to boot you are LUCKY that you have the means (through hard work) to get all that crap cut off. That's what I'm hearing now. ;)

@@Elode, When will you have time to have the flames painted on your walker?

And girl, please get yourself a pedi preop, you won't be wanting to for a couple weeks after, at least.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
