kempermorris 144 Posted April 3, 2016 I am 15 months post op. I had some setbacks because I had both legs operated on & both legs had complications. Took me several months to heal & I wasn't able to walk & exercise. I didn't gain any weight during that 4 months but I didn't lose any either. I have lost a total of 175 lbs. About 50 lbs short of my goal. I'm back on track having lost 10 lbs last month. I eat around 1200 calories daily & cut out everything bad I was eating. No fast food, no fried food, no sweets, no sodas, & no beer. I went a year without coffee. That nearly killed me. Now finally I'm back to drinking coffee. My weight was 410 & I'm at 245 now. I was diabetic taking 2 shots of insulin a day. I am now insulin free. No more shots. My blood sugar is perfect. My blood pressure, cholesterol, sleep apnea, neuropathy, all in check & went away. My new way of eating is lean grilled meats & lots of vegetables. I walk 4 miles 3 times a week & go to the gym & lift weights 3 times a week. I almost backed out of having the surgery. Even when I was going to all of my required spots I wasn't totally sold on this idea. But when they called & said your surgery date has been scheduled I decided to go ahead & do it. Its the single best decision I ever made in my life. I was on 12 different prescriptions & now NONE. No longer diabetic. I have more energy & I feel great. I hope to lose my goal of 225 lb weight loss by end of August. That would put me at 190. When I get there I'm going to reward myself with a trip to Cozumel & go scuba diving. I haven't been diving in 35 years because I was too big. I turn 61 in May but in many ways my life is getting a 2nd chance. So grateful for my Doctor, Nutritionist, & all the moral support I received from my friends. Sent from my Z970 using the BariatricPal App
