VSGMB 8 Posted August 22, 2016 Hey no worries- we're all here to help each other out right? Glad to hear you're feeling better about it all. Are you getting a bunch of comments from people now? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
RosieCheeks 105 Posted August 22, 2016 The odd comment is starting to come in which is a boost. I'm now 52lbs down and my breathing has improved tremendously but I'm still a bit rubbish at the exercise malarkey - I'm just not a gym bunny. I do make an effort to walk more i.e. I'll park at the far away end of the car park at Waitrose
VSGMB 8 Posted August 23, 2016 That's an amazing amount- well done! I have had a couple of comments, and find it hard to know what to say.. "Just watching what I eat..?!" I'm the same with exercise, although I'm trying to commit to walking to and from work.. Trying.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
RosieCheeks 105 Posted August 23, 2016 I'm 'out the closet' now and just tell everyone I've had most of my stomach ripped out. Some say I'm brave and well done, some think I'm mad. I don't really care what any of them think.
snannapuss 4 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi Rosie, just been reading through your thread, I'm in Cheshire! It's nice to not feel like the only person in the uk that's had this done nevermind find someone so nearby! RosieCheeks 105 Posted August 24, 2016 @@snannapuss Hi, Where are you? When/where were you done?
madadams 130 Posted August 24, 2016 I'm in the UK too. Outside Manchester. Had my op at the Alex in Cheadle with professor Ammori. Anyone else have him? Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
RosieCheeks 105 Posted August 24, 2016 I know Basil, I used to work with him at Salford Royal when I was a med sec. I did have a consultation with him but decided to save myself a bucket of money and have it done abroad.
madadams 130 Posted August 24, 2016 Don't blame you. I wasn't brave enough to travel abroad as I'm not good with anaesthetic. I was in 3 days with nausea. It was expensive but I think it's already been worth it. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
snannapuss 4 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi @@RosieCheeks and @@madadams I had Prof Ammori! He was fab, I had the op at the spire Cheshire. I'm 10 days out and I feeling very tired and shocked at how little I can fit in! I'm still on liquids but struggling to get what I think I should be aiming for! I spoke to the nurse yesterday and she said it's normal and to try to stay hydrated x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
madadams 130 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) Hi snannapuss His team have been great. They told me not to worry about getting going in so soon post op. I promise it will get easier. I can easily get 2.5 litres a day in now plus 6 small meals! Just keep sipping and try and stay hydrated. I emailed the prof directly last night and he answered within 5 mins. I love that I can have that contact when I need it but tbh I've hardly needed them. Sailed through each stage. I founded each time I went to the next food stage I could eat less as the textures filled me up quickly. I was off work 8 weeks just due to lack of energy. I was so tired. Think it was simply lack of calories. You'll get there x Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App Edited August 25, 2016 by madadams
