JLynn24 9 Posted May 31, 2016 My approval came in today and I am scheduled for June 21st with pre-op diet starting almost three weeks before. Apparently, when you're near 50 BMI, my surgeon likes to have an extended pre-op. Yay! I feel like I should be nervous about having such a major surgery, but I guess it doesn't quite feel real yet. My date is June 21st too!! I start my pre-op liquid diet next Tuesday, the 7th.

Seastars 175 Posted June 1, 2016 Yay, Junesleevers! I got my date today: June 22, even sooner than I hoped. (My first appt was only May 18.). And my surgeon said I don't have to do ANY liver diet, because I've been eating high Protein (and losing weight) so she says my "liver has shrunk enough." Hallelujah! Farcaster 80 Posted June 1, 2016 I started my three week pre-op diet today, which consists of 2 Protein Shakes and then for dinner I can have 4-6 oz of some sort of meat, 1/2 cup of starch, and unlimited greens. Very hungry right now and I've got another 20 days to go. Yikes!

I'm really impressed with all the testing and technology involved in this pre-op stage. The Upper GI was really cool and I have the monitors in from of me so I was able to see all "my insides" while I was drinking the contrast Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
