Yes! I have finished my 6 months required by insurance as well as the surgeons requirements (2 classes, psych eval, support group attendance, physical within last year, meeting with nutritionist and medical clearance letter from my PCP.) I would have had surgery in May but one of my medications is an immune system suppressant so I have to be off of it for 8 weeks before surgery.

I am hoping for surgery on June 13th. One Monday a month however, my doctor operates at a different hospital and there is a chance it will be that day. If so, I'll be going June 20th. I have all but my sleep study done (rescheduled for next Friday), and my behavioral appointment which just needed to be rescheduled to May 2nd. Otherwise, I would have had everything done next week. I am so excited about going for surgery. I have been contemplating it for a long time (several years) so I look forward to the changes this may bring!

My approval came in today and I am scheduled for June 21st with pre-op diet starting almost three weeks before. Apparently, when you're near 50 BMI, my surgeon likes to have an extended pre-op. Yay!

I feel like I should be nervous about having such a major surgery, but I guess it doesn't quite feel real yet.

I'm scheduled for June 21st. I'm having a band revision. I just hope they can do both in the same day.

I've got so much going on in the next couple of weeks, I'm glad I'm not trying to manage a pre-op diet on top of everything else at the moment. But, yeah, I'm anxious to start on the next leg of the journey. It will be here sooner than you think though ;)

I'm feeling extremely anxious and excited about having the surgery. My students think I'm counting to the last day of school... I'm really counting until my surgery!!!

I'm so sorry. :( I was expecting to be sleeved this month so I know what it's like waiting a couple month longer than expected.

I almost went over Spring Break for surgery but was afraid I wouldn't be able to back after only one week. I'm just more anxious to get this under way!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
