I'm down 18.4 pounds on Day 10 preop diet. Great. Sleeve is Monday and I think the anxiety is catching up with me. Having bad dreams like waking up in a panic thinking I had eaten fried chicken on the morning of my surgery. Then yesterday when I was getting my hair washed at the hairdresser, I got hot/flushed/nauseated. Had to sit up and cut the wash/scalp massage short. Maybe a teensy panic attack?? Has this happened to anyone else?

To a different degree but yes! It is completely normal to be anxious. I actually think the first week after surgery has been easier for me than the last week before surgery. It has had challenges in different ways but no more anxiety per say.

Totally normal!! I was setting with an IV in and playing calm on the outside for everyone but inside......It's not only surgery but a totally different lifestyle afterwards. But I'll let you in on a secret, its worth every minute.

Yesterday I spent over an hour outside taking my Nephews prom pics. I am not talented but just have a great camera but this time last year I would have been sweating so badly it made me sick. I'm 47 and actually see an amazing future.

So many people will tell you the only regret is not doing it sooner. Your going to rock this!!!

Like everyone says we all felt the same... I was calm the whole time until they took me inside the operation room I felt so sick and started to vomit for like 10 min until I couldn't no more because I got so scare, but the nurses were so nice they made me calm down. Good luck! And remember to walk walk walk [emoji6]

@@Monie717 not only normal, but expected (and for many, will continue post-surgery with hormone dumping). For me, enhancing my emotional regulation skills and ability to sit with moments like you describe has been one of my biggest goals since I used food to cope for so long and knew I had to change that to be successful. Best of luck this weekend, Monday and beyond!

@@Monie717, if you don't believe the good people who've already responded, stick around for the endless parade of those who are approaching their surgery dates as though they're being led to the guillotine. Dreaming about fried chicken is okay as long as you don't bite the stuffing from your pillow.

@@agalindo17, nope, we didn't all feel the same. I'd been so preoccupied with preparing in advance (buying supplies, making charts of what I'd need to do and when I'd need to do it in the few weeks following surgery, et al.) that nervousness was not on the menu. I walked into the OR ready for anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
