I have done my 6 month process and have my first appointment with the surgeon April 20th. I am super excited and nervous. I'm worried about the Protein shakes. I do not like milky products like ice cream, milk and shakes. Will I get enough nutrients by using Protein powder in broth? I also see the NUT on April 20th. Just thought I'd ask you for advice early because it is something I'm concerned about, however I will do what needs to be done.

Your head appears to be in the right place @@sbdooly73

The chances are, you'll be able to sort something out with your Protein...

You'll get various opinions here but the important one is the opinion of your NUT...

They're the ones who will know all the appropriate details to give you advice that's pertinent to your situation...

The best of luck to you...

I look forward to seeing you post your updates in here...

Protein Shakes have always been difficult for me too. There are some clear Isopure drinks that some people love (and some people hate). There are also Syntrax Nectars that are more juice like and most people seem to like them

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
