I am four months post op. I have a hard time taking Vitamins, they make me terribly nauseous ... So I stopped taking them. I do take the Calcium.< /p>

I don't know if it is associated but the past three weeks I have had terribly itchy skin on my legs , butt, waist, Upper arms. I went to primary and she couldn't figure it out. Definitely NOT bedbugs I ripped my house and bedrooms apart. They are like red hives, they get red and raised for no reason all different times of the day. Recently my legs and lower stomach is black and blue. My weight loss has been slower than I thought it would be, I exercise at least 4x per week...both cardio and weight training. I get in my Protein and Water. Can this all be from a Vitamin deficiency? I have a doctors appt next Friday with my Endo and surgeons. I am on no meds currently .

I've never heard of this before and am glad you are going into see your doctor. I will tell you that I did have some itchy skin issues but I have become a lotion freak and that has really helped. I also get bruises all the time now. Bruises can be a sign of anemia from not taking your Vitamins and can be dangerous. I went in to get checked and was fine but I would mention it to your doctor.

I would advise you to take your Vitamins. If the brand you are taking makes you nauseated try a different brand. It is so important to get those vitamins in.

Good Luck!

I concur with @@kranky813

Talk to your doc and find a brand of Vitamins that don't make you ill...

Get whatever tests done and stay on top of things...

Good luck to you...

@@muggzz, have you had any antibiotics recently? Both of my antibiotic allergies showed up as hives like that, and they didn't start until after I was done with the antibiotics = ten days later for one of them.

I got very itchy postop, turns out I had a local skin reaction to my heparin and lovenox injections.

I sure hope they ID the problem. It's maddening itching all the time!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
