Can you just use baby food ? Seems easier to just buy the jars

I am also curious to know the answer to this question. I am not there yet but trying to prepare. I'm going in on April 21st. And I liked the idea of baby food during that stage also.

You can have Stage 1-2 .. You may not like the taste though.

I asked my Dietician yesterday re Raw pureed bananas and pawpaw.

She said these are fine raw, because they are very soft already.

Apart from the printed guide I have for each stage, I also get her written instructions. All I saw was "cooked fruit".

Anyway, all good.

I started on Soft Foods yesterday, week 5 post op.

I had 2 cruskits with low fat cream cheese, topped with tinned, mashed tuna mayo. It was Heaven!

I bought the allowed foods, cooked them, then pureed with Nutri Bullet.

I made few batches, that I froze for later in small containers. This way I had week's supply that I only needed to defrost and re-heat.

Personally, I prefer non tinned food, and my body was craving "fresh" (cooked and pureed) food.< /p>

Each stage prepares the stomach for the future, so the Sleeve doesn't get stretched, damaged, and to prevent nausea, vomiting, bad reactions, etc

You will get full recovery instructions pre and post op.

@@Inner Surfer Girl,

Yes, true, texture is very important.

Thank you for reminding me, as this is exactly what my dietician told me.

I was mindful of Vegies, but not of Soft Fruit.

I just thought that bananas, some type of pears and pawpaw are naturally soft ..... hence I forgot to cook them.

It is such a new eating habit now, that unless I keep checking my instructions, I sometimes make mistakes .....

Now, I check instructions every day.

What is "pawpaw"?
Its papaya.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
