OMG! No raw pureed food in the puree stage post op ...

Recommended Posts

How can I be so muddle headed at times ......

My Puree stage, post op instructions clearly stated that I can have Cooked/Steamed fruit only in this phase.

I knew re cooked veggies and cooked/canned Proteins, etc

I have had Raw pureed bananas, paw paw, pears .......

I will now cook my portions, but I am Half way through my puree stage!

Oh dear .......

I will tell this to my dietician.

No adverse reactions, as far as I know ....

No wonder that the surgical team wants me to be supported at home .... well, I forgot to tell this phase to my house-friend.

Off with the fairies ...... at times .....

I wonder why no raw fruits/veggies as long as they are pureed? (and peeled)

My guess is that even puréed raw vegetables would still be too rough/jagged. According to my NUT all of the food phases are based on texture.

@@Inner Surfer Girl,

Yes, true, texture is very important.

Thank you for reminding me, as this is exactly what my dietician told me.

I was mindful of Vegies, but not of Soft fruit.< /p>

I just thought that bananas, some type of pears and pawpaw are naturally soft ..... hence I forgot to cook them.

It is such a new eating habit now, that unless I keep checking my instructions, I sometimes make mistakes .....

Now, I check instructions every day.

Yes, it makes good sense to keep re-reading the instructions .....

Next week I'll be progressing onto soft foods, so more instructions, and more reading :)

Did lot of purees today, and froze most of them. No mistakes this time :)

Can you just use baby food ? Seems easier to just buy the jars

I am also curious to know the answer to this question. I am not there yet but trying to prepare. I'm going in on April 21st. And I liked the idea of baby food during that stage also.

You have to read the labels on baby food very carefully. Some of it has a lot of carbs.

I didn't have a puree phase (just soft food), but it is fairly easy to eat regular, adult soft or puréed food without resorting to baby food.

Think: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, refried Beans, ricotta bake, etc.

I was told avocado was fine during my puréed foods. If you mush it real good. So I think your prob fine. Unless I'm totally confused and that's for the following stage lol i better double check with my NUT now. Lol

Pawpaw is a type of Papaya. It is larger and less red/orange than papaya.

Very soft fruit, just need to peel it and remove the seeds

I have been wanting to try a pawpaw.

I just had ramps for the first time.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
