I'm 6 weeks out and for the past 2 days I've been getting pain in my upper and lower stomach when I eat or drink anything! I ate pick rinds after reading people eating it for Protein, if formed a global in my esophagus and had to throw it up. Since then, I've had this pain. Anyone else experience this? What can I do? Barely drinking or eating for 2 days. Can it be gas? Stretched stomach?

I think your auto correct is playing an April's fools on you...haha do you mean Pork rinds? .....and what formed in your throat?....but no matter my question is.....6 weeks post opp, are crispy things like that on the menu?

I can't really advise on the pain you're having but if I were in your shoes I'd contact my doctor just to be safe. Feel better soon!

Good luck!

I hate auto correct. I read people eating the, in small pieces at 6 weeks. It formed a clump in my throat. I will be contacting him next week if it doesn't go away. I'll be on liquids and creamed Soups for the next couple of days to be on the safe side. My doctors office said we could start eating regular foods by week 6, little by little.

I ate Pork rinds after reading people eating it for Protein after week 5, if formed a clump in my esophagus and had to throw it up. Since then, I've had this pain. Anyone else experience this? Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
