My insurance approved me for surgery. Tomorrow starts my 5 day pre-op liquid diet. I picked up my shakes this morning. Monday 4/4 is my hospital pre-op. Surgery is next Thursday! I am so nervous. This is such a huge, life changing surgery. Most people are supportive. A few have said things like, "I am shocked you qualify for that." or the, "I know of someone who had horrible complications.". I am taking two weeks off of work to allow my body to heal.

I have no idea how much I will drop on this liquid pre-op. I've never had to go that long without solid food. I know it is required so my liver will shrink before surgery.

The thing I am most looking forward to is getting rid of my sleep apnea. Second thing, we live near the Gulf of Mexico. It's super hot in Houston. I want to be able to wear a cute dress or shorts. I want to be able to ride the rides at Disney without worrying about my weight.

@@Momwith3minions congratulations on your approval and quick timeline until surgery! Good luck today with the liquid diet...while the first few days are rough, it gets better AND makes such a huge difference for your surgery if you can shrink your liver to to help your surgeon be successful. Do not listen to the naysayers, you know why you want this and that you will be successful. Best of luck!
