My surgery date 4/5! How's the liquid diet going? Mine is going ok. It's very hard bc I'm working! Guess where I work? At a restaurant.. It's super hard but I have to prepare myself for what's gonna happen after surgery and I get back to work.

I am April Sleever - last April! :) I can't believe it has almost been a year. You are about to have the best year of your life! The pre diet is the worst part. You can do it! Keep your eye on the prize! Good luck!

I'm 7 days pre-op and on day 7 of my 14-day liquid diet. Not going to lie, I'm not enjoying it one bit. I'm hangry. I've gone beyond the point of actually being hungry; I'm weak, tired. I know this is going to be the way it is for a while.

I'm day 8 of 2 week preop. Down 14.2 this am. But I could eat my arm. Just trying to stay busy.

Hi Everyone My surgery date is April 12th and my second day of the liquid diet. It seems that the evening is the worst time for me when I need to prepare dinner. It may be a bit easier once spring break is over. :P

Surgery 4/4 for me. Something that has helped me is drinking different kinds of warm tea throughout the day (no caffeine) - today I've had peach, cherry and sleepy time tea. All celestial seasonings. I am getting so sick of everything being sweet and these are flavorful, but not sweet.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
