MyKidsMom89 70 Posted March 29, 2016 Learned last week that I was denied for skin removal surgery. Pretty bummed, what with warm weather coming and the thighs sagging. Apparently there's no way to appeal since BCBS has changed the criteria to qualify. Anyone else go through this, and what did you do? I can't afford to self pay, unfortunately. ising4godinohio 8 Posted March 29, 2016 If you have strongly documented history of sores, infections, rashes, and methods used to treat them as well as the outcome, you may have a solid foundation to appeal. Also, carefully read the denial letter. It will tell you exactly why it was denied. It should also tell you what your options are to appeal. It may be something as simple as your doctor needing to request a peer-to-peer review. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App
