fat2fitDE 1 Posted March 28, 2016 I'm 7 days post op and was wondering if you all had suggestions of foods besides Water, Protein Drinks, Jello. Maybe some Soups? Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted March 28, 2016 I was allowed to have creamed Soups as long as they were low-fat and any sort of chunks were strained out. Non-cream soups, I could strain everything out and drink the broth.< /p>

becomingmandikaye 262 Posted March 28, 2016 Bone broth. It's a bit pricey (unless you make your own), but it sounds delicious. https://www.barebonesbroth.com/
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted March 29, 2016 @@fat2fitDE I bought premade Soups, I am too lazy to cook my own -- especially when I was getting over surgery! I was very careful to measure my portions and log everything in MFP. Even lowfat soups can pile on the calories and I needed to stay within a given calorie range. liannatx 897 Posted March 29, 2016 Egg drop soup! My husband would pick up a container from a restaurant. If you are on full liquids just make sure to puree, thin, and strain out any solids from Soups.
judymcd69 17 Posted March 29, 2016 I bought Hot & Sour Soup from a Chinese restaurant and strained it
Fitby30 0 Posted March 29, 2016 I'm 7 days out as well. I shared with my surgeon today that I have a NutriBullet RX, which basically liquifies everything and she recommended continued use. I've been putting Soups in there and basically making it juice. The added benefit of the NutriBullet is that it heats and cooks as well.

KarenRene 1 Posted March 29, 2016 I'm on day 7 and made a beautiful stew yesterday and was so disappointed that I couldn't eat it. So I talked to my nutritionist and she said if I puréed it then I could eat it. Nothing tasted so delicious (even though it looked like disgusting baby food). I hate Protein shakes..I also don't care for yogurt, Beans, cottage cheese...so I was starting to go a little crazy on Jello and Water. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's how I feel. I just spoke to a NP from my team and she said the same thing. I think I've become milk intolerant because when I drink anything containing milk the acid/gas pains are much worse. DP08 4 Posted March 29, 2016 I'm 4 days out and have been using Protein shots to get my Protein. In a 3.9oz bottle I get 42g of protein. I'll have to admit though I'm just about over them. http://m.gnc.com/New-Whey-Nutrition-New-Whey-42-Liquid-Protein-Grape/product.jsp?productId=41843806 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
