Dejaalex 16 Posted March 28, 2016 I have Bcbs carefirst and my stuff went in on the 3/19 and I found out today they left a message on the 3/23 to call them back because I got approved. However I hadn't checked my house messages and I called today and they told me. May 11 here I come! Sent from my Z970 using the BariatricPal App
adashnau 22 Posted March 28, 2016 That's awesome! I have BCBS also and mine was sent for approval on a Friday, it was approved that Saturday, and I had a note waiting in my mailbox on Monday telling me I was approved. I couldn't believe how fast it was, I had told myself to just wait and planned to call weekly to check on it. Good luck!
karen091866 120 Posted March 28, 2016 Awesome! Congratulations! Keep us all posted on how surgery goes... I am a little over 4 months post-op- & have ZERO regrets! Best of luck to you on your big day!
Tammy Lafevre 3 Posted March 29, 2016 Did either of you have to do a 3 month physician supervised diet? I was just denied for my conversion from lap band to gastric sleeve because I didn't have this. I am now in the process of doing this, but can't get into classes until the end of April. I have completed all of my other pre-op requirements. My BMI is 38 and I am concerned that if I lose weight and am below 35 BMI that they will deny me again! My insurance is Medical Mutual.
adashnau 22 Posted March 29, 2016 I didn't have to do a 3 month diet but since January, I've been meeting with the dietician every 3 weeks to be weighed and go over what I have been eating. It is so show commitment to making a change in eating habit and learn healthy eating skills.
