Oh my goodness....the crying! I'm 6 days post op and I have no pain, can get in a good amount of liquids, but the crying is awful. I don't even feel like myself. Plus I have no patience at all for anything..the dog, the 6 yr old...it's awful. I hope this part of it ends soon.

@@FMoore2004 Keep holding on!

On my 4th day post-op I had multiple crying fits.

It's very frustrating! I had a lot of gas pain and nausea.

I'm now on 9th day post-op and feeling great (lost almost 20 lbs).

My tips:

- sleep well - your body needs rest to heal.

- Listen to your body, as Barry said.

- For me, drinking in really small sips while standing up gave my stomach "room".

- I froze cubes of natural sugar free juice. Best "popsicle" ever.

and finally: cry. let it all out.

A few days ago I felt like stabbing someone. If you need anything, IM me.

lots os love

Sounds like the hormones stored in fat are dumping out quickly. That can happen. I had moments where I was craving chick flicks one moment and wanted to pound something the next. It was an odd roller coaster, akin to adolescence. It is actually normal. Hang on and don't make any life changing decisions

I had two crying fits on day 2 and 3. I was so over it and thought I had mad a huge mistake. It does get better.

Day 6 has not been a good day for me. My stomach has been upset all day. I'm having lots of cramping and diarrhea. I added Protein shakes yesterday so I don't know if this the the result or what the hell is happening but I'm not happy. Yesterday I felt really good and thought I was on the right now and today has been a total set back :(

Chris

I had a pretty crappy day as well so don't feel alone. I'm doing purée and every bit of food hurts when I swallow!!! I feel it going down and it's not pleasant. I'm chewing it to nothing and I still hurts, drinks hurt! I'm over it. I walked pass the pizza shop today and the aroma frustrated me to the point of tears. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

It's completely normal after any surgery for your recovery to vary. You feel great one day, you do a bit more than you had been, you feel crappy the next. That's just the way it works. Tomorrow should be better!

I wasn't able to keep anything but Clear Liquids for 18 days post surgery. Two days later, I'm not only eating, everything is staying down without any trouble at all. It gets better, I promise!

FMoore, I'm sorry you had a bad day too. I keep thinking that it has to get better. If you don't mind me asking, how much weight have you lost? I started at 264 and am 247 today.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
