Are you drinking Atkin's shakes? They make me have very loose stools! Any time I'm starting to feel I need to move things along, I have one. Lol. If that's the culprit, you may want to switch Protein shakes.< /p>

I was sleeved on the 23rd and I can't seem to be able to reach my Protein or Water goals either. I walked too much yesterday and when I got home I could barely drink anything and was in a lot of pain. Today I walked for 10 minutes around the block and it took all my strength. Am resting now. I have a huge bruise on my lower left side, sometimes it feels warm too. Has anyone experienced any bruising?

Hi, I have bruises around the stitches but nothing else. Try to drink and get some Proteins if you don't want to feel weak. I know it is hard but you need to find what you tolerate. Personally I can't do Isopure anymore, but shakes are ok.

I am a week out and everyday is a little improvement. Hang in there.

I had my surgery on the 25th! The pain has subsided well and overall I feel great. It's definitely a challenge getting all the Protein & Water in. I have found that if you heat up the Water it goes down a bit easier.

I am 8 days out. No nausea, not much pain, no BM yet, first visit today. 6 lbs in 1 week - a bit disappointing, but 12 if I count preop. I'm not feeling much restriction at all when I drink. I may get a tiny bit of pressure, but that's it. I'm starting to wonder if I still have my stomach in there. I am allowed greek yogurt this week and oatmeal, but only 2 ounces. No problems eating those. Am I crazy? Did anyone else have such a smooth road the first week and after eating the first small amounts? I'm not ungrateful at all, but just beginning to wonder.

Kate, you and I are quite similar. I'm just a week out myself, but I'm having no issue drinking. I'm able to get both my Protein Shakes down a day and 50 oz of Water, which is mind blowing. I wonder if they didn't take out as much as other people, sometimes. I'm up and walking, working from home, but other than some dizziness and lingering aches, I've had a really smooth road too. I'm honestly hungry, even after a Protein Shake, and that's the most worrisome of all!

Oh my goodness....the crying! I'm 6 days post op and I have no pain, can get in a good amount of liquids, but the crying is awful. I don't even feel like myself. Plus I have no patience at all for anything..the dog, the 6 yr old...it's awful. I hope this part of it ends soon.

@@FMoore2004 Keep holding on!

On my 4th day post-op I had multiple crying fits.

It's very frustrating! I had a lot of gas pain and nausea.

I'm now on 9th day post-op and feeling great (lost almost 20 lbs).

My tips:

- sleep well - your body needs rest to heal.

- Listen to your body, as Barry said.

- For me, drinking in really small sips while standing up gave my stomach "room".

- I froze cubes of natural sugar free juice. Best "popsicle" ever.

and finally: cry. let it all out.

A few days ago I felt like stabbing someone. If you need anything, IM me.

<3

lots os love

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
