SO i tried cheating. i know...horrible. But anyway i took 2 bites of chicken (i am on liquids/mush) and OH WOW it was the MOST HORRIBLE PAIN i have ever had. i thought i was going to have a heart attack! lol I was driving and I swore it was going to get caught and I would have to try and give myself the heimlick manuever!! it was horrible. Then I puked it up. ew. I wont ever cheat again and I dont recommend it!

I have had problems with dry (overcooked) meats since I've been on solids. I puked three times in 6 months of banding, twice on dry salmon, once on chicken white meat.

If I eat meat that might be dry, I find or make a low fat/low sugar sauce to dip in. Just a little, maybe a table spoon for my meal does the trick. salad dressing, mustard, Heintz 1 carb carb ketchup are the base. Mix in some spices (chili powder, garlic powder, chopped onion or onion powder, etc) to give them some flavor.

Good luck getting through the rest of your liquid stage. It's important to follow your doctor's instructions.

Take a wedge of one of the laughing cow light cheeses (herb or french onion) and mix with a tablespoon of fat free mayo or fat free sour cream-ITS GREAT! :clap2:

chicken is a doozy sometimes. I don't like it anyway, so I rarely eat it.. but when I get things like mandarin chicken from chinese places, I almost always get the first bite stuck--which kills my mood for chinese and I don't finish my dinner. And their chicken is moist, so it didn't matter about being dry for me.

Cheating on the post op diet is begging for a slip. If you want your band to work for you and if you want to lose weight, don't cheat. If your band slips you'll be on liquids again for three weeks. If you slip again it will likely be removed completely assuming it wasn't removed the first time.
