I think I stretched out my stomach, is it too late to shrink it by eating smaller portions again?

Thanks for starting this thread, I have been contemplating doing the VSG based on the long term results. This was very helpful.

My doctor who I saw last Friday said you can't stretch your sleeve. It's what you eat that makes you gain the weight back.

Mri scans show regained have not stretched their sleeve...they graze, eat high calorie easily digested crap, and don't follow da rules for Protein or Water. Do a pouch reset to get back to basics and reacquaint yourself with using the tool. Make sure you are also eating enough calories (check your nut notes). Pre or post op, folks who do not eat enough slow down their metabolism. Your body tries to protect itself with less nutrients coming in.

Get back to basics, measuring your portions, drinking enough liquids, eating enough Protein, journaling all of your daily food, Protein, liquids and exercise. Not all calories are created equal (nor are they "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness")

After you review your journal, you will see your successful efforts and where you can improve on things.

My surgery was a total failure from the get go so I have been thinking of requesting an MRI to look at my sleeve. Maybe this would be an option for you also. Or some other gastric imaging study.

Why would you day it's been a failure?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
