Haddock and Broccoli Pie (a healthy pie!)

Recommended Posts

Happy Eatster everyone! I might be sick, but I was determined to cook on Pants-Free Friday, sorry Good Friday. In breaking with my old tradition of Steak Diane on GF, I went for a far healthier option of Haddock and Broccoli Pie, inspired by this month's Donna Hay magazine.

I am six months post op, almost 35kgs down (halfway to goal now) and just moved to Twyford, Berkshire UK (from London), originally from Sydney Australia.

You had me at Pants-Free Friday...

The pie sounds great...

What time should I be there and should I bring Tim Tams?

Thanks! I am off the Tim Tams these days - but I would not say no to a (small) packet of chicken Twisties! Other than that, pop on over anytime! Congrats on your loss BTW - that is an amazing amount for a year!

I live in the US but I discovered Tim Tams last year when my mom brought a pack back from Canada. Holy moly were they amazing...every day I would eat one in the afternoon and when I ate my last one I was looking on Amazon to order more. I realized it was a very dangerous slider food so I never ordered more but I dream/long for them every day.

Now, what is this Pants-Free Friday? Is this an official thing? I thought I was the only one...

Wow, your company's "casual Friday" is really liberal!

The joy of being self employed! We have Braless Mondays, Twister Tuesdays, Wierd Wednesdays, Tattoo Thursdays and Pants Free Friday. This is of course only enacted when I am working from home and not on a client site....would be awkward otherwise!

Tim Tams....I dream....

I love how none of these comments are about the pie. It's all about walking around half nekkid and Tim Tams! Which I will have to google...

Just dont eat the Tim Tams - or if you feel compelled to try, ration them to one or two a week! Or share them with us....

If you have to work overtime on the weekend, is it a "Stark-Naked Saturday"?

As did I. Why don't we have those here...not fair.

I suppose I could order some from Amazon, but that just sounds dangerous!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
