kim36517 3 Posted March 25, 2016 Has anyone's surgeon sent them home with a set of the leg compression cuffs to wear night? Mine did, but I don't know how long I have to use them. My BMI was low enough I didn't need to be put on blood thinners. Sent from my SM-G900R6 using the BariatricPal App
jane13 2,256 Posted March 25, 2016 I wasn't on blood thinners ever and only had the compression cuffs at the hospital and once I got up and was moving around steadily, those we not used after that.
bdfletch 166 Posted March 25, 2016 My surgeon sends all his patients home with them. He told us to wear them for the first month every night. It is just an extra precaution they do so his patients don't experience blood clots due to dvt. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I could not remember how long I needed to wear them. I loved him. My sleeve was 3/10 Sent from my SM-G900R6 using the BariatricPal App
Tan4sho 39 Posted March 26, 2016 My doctor sent me home with 10 days of Enoxaparin injections. I would have preferred the cuffs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Why not give your surgeon's office a call and ask?
tish67 11 Posted March 26, 2016 Nope. Usually I wore the leg compression at the hospital before the surgeon discharged me from the hospital instead. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
