I'm 3 weeks post op at my first Dr Vist 1 week after surgery I had lost 19 pounds, Leading up to my surgery I had lost 71 pounds for a total of 90 to date. The last 2 weeks I haven't lost a pound. I'm taking in 90 to 110 grams of Protein between 700 and 1100 calories a day, Walking 30 minutes to an hour, daily bowl movements nothing is moving what am I doing wrong? How can I kick start this thing again.

Before surgery I could loose at least a pound a week now seems like nothing moving with less calories and a whole lot of gas Help!

Hi, i've heared more stories about stalling after a few weeks. I don't think you should be worried just yet. To be clear i had my surgery on monday but I have read stories where people stalled after few weeks. Your body has been totally reset but I am sure you will lose weight again soon. So keep it up and remember when you start walking more or excersising you will train your muscles etc so weightloss is expected to be slower!

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone stalls periodically, and almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks after surgery.

Embrace the Stall!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
