The last two days I been feeling a lot fuller then normal. I can't even finish my 1/4 of a cup three small pieces an I'm done. Anyone else having this issue? Can you stomach shrink more even after surgery?

Depends how far out from surgery you are...

I'm no expert, but I'd say the swelling would take a while to subside...

It will also make a difference as to what you're eating...

I'm sure you know, you'll eat less meat (chicken/beef/etc) than you will yoghurt (or similar)...

Or maybe you're just not 'hungry'...

Just see what happens...

And if it's really troubling you, give your doc/nutritionist a call...

I have had times where it took nothing to reach that feeling.

Currently I can eat two pouches of flavored tuna in a 15 minute period. I know....I know....too dang fast, but that is lunch. Done and cafe is shut down....timer started and Water is had 35 mins later.

Recently I would have one pack and that was it.....done......no desire to eat another.

I have no idea what to attribute this change to.....but I have learned to listen to my body and roll with it.

Also the nerves in your stomach continue to heal for 8+ weeks after surgery, so your stomach isn't getting smaller, but your nerves can get better at detecting food in your stomach and relaying that info to your brain.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
