Scared

My sugery date is 3/29/16, which is quickly approaching and I'm soooooo nervous!!...I started my liquid diet today and I already have a headache from not eating. I've just been praying that I'm making the right decision. I'm scared of what I will look like.. .smh...is that crazy?

It's fine. You'll make it and get through it. Just hang in there. Believe me, you will thank yourself afterwards.

You are in the really rough stretch now. You will be miserable on the pre-op diet, overwhelmed with doubt and fear, and probably some excitement mixed in. You just have to hang on for dear life and trust that you made the right decision back when you were thinking clearly. Now is the worst possible time to consider changing your mind or backing out, because now you are being emotional and irrational. You and your doctors made a well-reasoned and calculated decision. Trust in that.

We have the same surgery date.

I have all your feelings am scared, excited and keep telling myself I am not ready for this. But I know that's just my fears talking and not what I really want, the thinking part of me knows this is the right choice so I just try to listen to her more then the other side lol if that makes sense.

I feel the same way. My pre-op diet starts this weekend. I'm a ball of nerves about the whole thing!

@@JamieLogical is spot-on. If you look through these boards, you will see that preop nerves, anxiety, and second guessing oneself is the norm rather than the exception. After all the appointments, tests, and nerves about insurance approval, there isn't anywhere else for all that energy to go.

Kinda like pre-wedding jitters, now that I think about it.

Take a deep breath. Know that you made this decision to take control of your health and improve it. You took this step to make life better for you and those you love. There are no guarantees that it will be smooth sailing from here on out - but that's true of life as a whole, isn't it? Good luck!
