swinglifeaway 64 Posted March 22, 2016 For those that had to pay a coinsurance, was that due before surgery or was it billed to you? I know a lot of companies vary so I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect. I'll ask about it at my next appointment. Thanks!
lifeofblair 308 Posted March 22, 2016 I paid ahead of time, but ended up paying too much and was refunded by the hospital.

Donna415 47 Posted March 24, 2016 A lot of times, they will have you pay your deductible up front but not the co-ins. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Daisee68 2,493 Posted March 24, 2016 I had already met my deductible by time of surgery but not yet hit out of pocket and did have to pay my estimated co-insurance which was overpaid (as the dr ended up filing before the hospital) and I had to get refund from the hospital. Donna415 47 Posted March 28, 2016 Me too. My deductible should be met by the time I'm ready for surgery and I have no co pay so nothing up front would be awesome! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dawnie Doo 184 Posted April 26, 2016 I've already met my deductible. Coinsurance should also be met by the time of surgery. I'm getting bills up to wazoo Lol but nothing required upfront. Dawnie_doo
swinglifeaway 64 Posted May 12, 2016 I found out that it will be billed to me and then I'll make an arrangement with the hospital. Thank goodness! 1 Aworknprogress reacted to this
