mamakatx3 1 Posted March 21, 2016 I have had 3 c sections, two were emergency and my last was planned. I have also had my gall bladder removed. I survived those just fine. I am terrified I can't survive the sleeve surgery. I think its all in my head. Can anyone share their experiences with these verses the VGS?
mamakatx3 1 Posted March 21, 2016 Sorry I mean VSG lol
mistycal 81 Posted March 21, 2016 I had 2 c-secs and recovered pretty quickly, was up walking the night of.... This was less painful then the c-secs in my opinion, the soreness is comparable but not the same incision pain, if that makes sense, I'm almost 2 weeks out and feel like I have more energy than before! umo 86 Posted March 21, 2016 I would not compare this to CS but definitely would compare VSG to laposcopic gall bladder surgery. The incisions are almost exactly the same. Difference is in the eating and drinking which will be a discomfort for a while but if you survived the other two surgeries you will be just fine.
taramarie523 116 Posted March 21, 2016 I too have had 3 csections and was wondering the same thing! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted March 21, 2016 c section MUCH harder recovery. Hysterectomy much harder recover, both totally worth it. The sleeve was nothing compared to them.
mamakatx3 1 Posted March 21, 2016 That helps me a lot to hear that. Thanks

Sharon1964 2,530 Posted March 21, 2016 I had an open gallbladder surgery, one semi-natural childbirth, and one unplanned csection after two days of labor. VSG was a walk in the park compared to those. For my csection, I physically couldn't get out of bed until the next day.
rking 484 Posted March 21, 2016 I had two c sections. Sleeve was much much easier. Soreness in stomach right after surgery reminded me of csection. Not painful, but soreness.
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted March 21, 2016 I will add this. after the surgery the only thing that was harder with VSG was the liquid diet. :-) after the c section and hysterectomy I could eat. but the surgery it's self and surgical recovery was much much much easier with VSG. taramarie523 116 Posted March 21, 2016 lol I will take that as good news! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
ocgirl15 667 Posted March 21, 2016 My sleeve was ezzy pezzy compared to my 2 c-sections. Plus you don't have any night feedings and can concentrate on just your recovery! I have much less pain and more energy after sleeve! Good luck!
cat saaski 104 Posted March 21, 2016 I was curious about this as well. 10 days until my sleeve surgery. I have had three c sections (one emergency following 12 plus hours of labor) and I survived those. Hard to get up and moving right away but this seems easier as far as recover....I guess only time will tell.
Kittymappus 26 Posted March 21, 2016 I was just thinking about this yesterday. I've had three c-sections and wondered how a VGS compared. Thanks for asking
