I had mine done on Monday here ion Waco, Texas Dr. Gayland Sims did mine. I am doing pretty good. I will tell you that I am in some pain and it feels like I have a knott in the middle of the chest but it comes and goes. I am on liquids as the manual calls for. I have a large incision across my belly and 4 more in other spots of my body. I think it will take me longer brfore I heal up

I was banded in St.Francis hospital, Poughkeepsie New York By DR. Dominic Artuso...The surgery probably saved by life, I had a severe Hiatial Hernia that he repaired at the same time he did my lap band...Wonderful doctor..very caring and understanding would recommend him to anyone considering having the surgery...will always be grateful:whoo:

I had mine done in Toronto at the Surgical Weight Loss Centre by Dr. Colbourn. It was a wonderful place. I am very happy with all the Centre did for me. Follow up is great. Where you chose to go is the most important thing. Good luck to all. Bob

Hi!!

I am new to this site but thought I would start here and let you know I had my LapBand put in September 4th, 2007 by Dr. Mumford in Mississauga, Ontario. Had to pay for it myself which in the long run I hope it was worth it.:faint:So far doing okay. Dr. Mumford was very accommodating and everyone at the clinic was great.

Hope this helps.

Sheila

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
