Eating after surgery

Recommended Posts

I went back and re-read the entire 2 pages and fail to see where anyone including myself was rude to you but did not see it. Perhaps you can point it out.

I hope you are over your daydreaming cravings; surely someone coming up and complementing you for how much weight you've lost will satisfy your needs much more than a volcano chalupa or taco :)

I'm hungry too. I'm 7 days post op and I want to chew on something. I was wondering if anyone "cheated" before there time? It's hard to do when you so use to eating. I've been asking people that I personally know that have had the sleeve lap or reroute and all have given me different answers but they are dare Devils lol how ever I can say when they did "cheat" it was very soft food like mash potatoes baby food smashed Beans etc and they are fine. I may cheat lol I'm really thinking about it cause this is torture lol

I did. I got sick of the sweet stuff all the time around day 5 and tested some hummus. It was great. I had about a spoonful. I figured of I could tolerate thick stuff like pudding, why not hummus of the same consistency? It was fine, but I didn't take it too far after. I also started my purée diet a couple days early with purée grilled chicken with honey mustard dressing mixed in. Wonderful! Lol

@berg, please do not leave the support group due to one comment which was perceived to be rude. I say this for several reasons:

1. Everyone needs support through this process

2. No two people are going to respond the same to a question or comment, because we are all different

3. You have a choice to skip over those comments which are not helpful or rude or mean, etc. etc.

4. Someone may have the same question or thought as you.

5. Written word leaves out so much nonverbal, that it is often hard to decipher what was meant or how it was meant from simply the text alone. But you can also take it at face value, some comments will be more blunt than others. But when we get to the point where the struggle is real, sometimes what we need is bluntness.

Regarding your question, the best is to follow guidance by your physician. I was not allowed beef until recently. I am over 4 months out. Just be gentle with yourself, and don't be surprised if what looks like just a little bit is impossible to manage. Take it slow...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
