I have a really nice Vitamix blender. I want to know who has something like the ninja, magic bullet, or nutribullet with the single serve cups and why you like it. I am thinking about getting one just for my shakes for after surgery so I don't have to wash the big blender every time.

I had a nutra bullet...then got the nutra ninja for Christmas. What a difference! Comes with both pitcher and single serve which use the same base. Makes veggie/fruit much less "chunky" than the bullet...and can handle ice. Makes Protein Shakes with frozen fruit. Really loud though....

I am starting week 2 of my Optifast drinks. I just bought a nutri ninja with the auto iq. I have used it twice and LOVE it. I put some crushed ice in it and my drink for a smoothie taste for something different. No ice chunks at all in it. I have a full size ninja and this works tons better for single servings. Especially smoothies. Can't wait till I can puree some real food in it. Good luck

I wouldn't use a blender with shakes right after surgery. It whips air into your shakes making them thicker and harder to drink.

I used a Blender Bottle. Thin shakes make it easier to drink and meet your Protein goals. Later I used by bullet when I made iced coffee with unflavored Protein powder.

I actually leave mine in the fridge for a few hours to let the air settle out! I can't stand the texture I get from just shaking in the Blender Bottle, so I make my day's worth of shakes in the morning and leave the bottle in the fridge and then have really smooth, really tasty shakes all day long!

I use an immersion blender -- that way clean up is even easier than any kind of Ninja/Bullet/whatever, and it doesn't whip any air into your shakes. No letting them wait in the fridge to settle or choking on foam. You can drink them right away :)

I have the ninja with auto iq. I've had it for about 5 months. It works great. I add frozen fruit, spinach or kale. It blends it up really smooth. It does have the individual size cups. It's loud, but it has a lot of power.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
