Avershay 1 Posted April 4, 2016 I am having surgery on 4/22 with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. My insurance covers the procedure in the states and my out of pocket would be about the same as I am paying in Mexico. I chose Dr. Ortiz over my surgeon in the US because he has a lower complication rate and their level of service at OCC has far exceeded the surgeon I was working with here at home. I am confident in my decision to go to Mexico and not go through my insurance and I can't wait !!

Yeah, my surgery wouldn't have been covered by my insurance anyway, but I liked the freedom of picking any surgeon I wanted, deciding when I wanted the surgery on my own schedule, and not having to jump through so many arbitrary hoops for insurance.
