Stopped losing at 11 months post op

Do you have a nutritionist that you are working with? The chicken nuggets would definitely not be on the list of foods to eat; high sugar, high fat and probably carbs. If you don't take the advise you read hear or research on line. You will find many appropriate eating plans that will help you lose weight again.

One thing my surgeon advised to completely avoid is high fructose corn Syrup. Most processed food uses it. I would bet that the uncrustables have high fructose corn syrup in addition to the starch in the bread. I would get a Jif to go cup before I would eat a PBJ sandwich.

Hi,

The uncrustables have 28g of carbs and contain dextrose, sugar, molasses, high fructose corn Syrup and corn syrup. I would lose them as a lunch fast.

Now I eat small portions that I know I can finish. I don't stack my plate like I used too. I definitely don't eat and drink. I'm still on the 30/30 rule. If anything I know I'm sticking to that. Protein drinks not drinking like use to. I prefer to get my Protein by meats and eggs. Now the PB&J I eat are the uncrustables you buy from the store. There little sandwiches shaped like circles and are usually for kids. I eat 1 sandwich.

This morning I had my usual scrambled eggs and 2 slices of turkey bacon. Drunk about 40 oz of Water before lunch and for lunch I had baked chicken nuggets. So far, so good. And if I get hungry before dinner should I try some tea and lemon w/ no sugar, or chicken broth?

Track your food. There are many apps for Android and iPhone. Read the nutrition labels. The "look of food" will definitely fool you! Drink more water!

I love Peanut Butter too. Instead of using bread or uncrustables, use an apple and skip the jelly. Maybe have a spoonful of 1% cottage cheese with half an apple and a tablespoon of Peanut Butter for lunch. I leverage that sometimes as my lunch and other times a small apple with a tablespoon or 2 of peanut butter but I do measure my peanut butter. Mostly because I love it so much I could easily eat more and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter is 190 calories which is fine but it also has fat and sugar in it so I like to measure and track it.

Other times for lunch I will have a larger portion of cottage cheese, a few fresh strawberries and some canned peaches. It's filling, has great Protein and valuable carbs.

If you like breaded baked chicken try breading your own using almond meal, or even crushed nuts. They make fantastic breading and much lower on the carbs front. I make baked chicken Parmesan using almond meal and Parmesan cheese for the breading. It is one of my favorite meals. I use a jarred marinara sauce that is all natural with no added sugar and I top it will full fat mozerella cheese. I no longer make Pasta with it, so I serve the chicken next to fresh steamed whole green Beans. Yum! One of my favorite dinners, very healthy with great protein!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
