ange117 93 Posted March 16, 2016 I'm on day 3 and I've been doing good until now (3pm). Oooooh, that hunger is setting in! Tummy cramps, headache--the whole works! I'm pounding Water to try to take the edge off until my next shake, but I'll be glad once the ketosis starts up and this gnawing hunger dies down!!! Anybody else going through their pre-op diet right now???

Anybody else going through their pre-op diet right now??? Yes, I am also on day 3! I'm hanging in by a thread! Surpringly I lost 3.5 # and I did cheat yesterday. But am focused today, spent the day out shopping and didn't think about food at all! Just bought a boat load of SF Jello. ange117 93 Posted March 16, 2016 Honestly, the hardest time for me seems to be at work! Mostly because I'm trying to focus, which is not easy between having a headache and being a little dizzy. Each day will get a little easier, yeah? According to the scale, I've lost about 8lbs since Sunday, but I think that's a little biased because I had an upper endoscopy/colonoscopy done yesterday, so I spent Monday only drinking Clear liquids instead of Protein shakes, and all the prep medicine really emptied things out. I'm not going to complain though, getting this weight off is the whole goal! Stay strong!

My program has had me taking Calcium and a Multivitamin since the first time I walked through the door. I'm also talking Vitamin d and B12 for preexisting deficiencies, so I'm basically already taking everything I'll need after surgery. I think it's wise to check with your program, but simple logic also tells me that 3 Protein shakes and one small meal a day cannot provide the Vitamins your body needs. Mudgy6 88 Posted March 17, 2016 I haven't had my procedure done yet and my biggest problem snacking is in the evening Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
mizzzzzzT 80 Posted March 17, 2016 Yea I haven't had the surgery yet either I'm going in on April 4. Same here so what I have done is moving my shakes around so I'm spacing them to a point where I can have my last shake at 8pm and I'm not hungry when I'm watching tv
ange117 93 Posted March 17, 2016 My answer to evening hunger has been to sip a cup of broth. Because I'm drinking sweet Protein Shakes all day, the savory helps it feel more like 'dinner' and seems to sate me a little better. The flavor is a nice change, too. Might be worth a shot if you're allowed to have it!
