Hi all...I was sleeved on 2/26 and I'm experiencing difficulty with getting in my Water and Protein :( I feel fatigued all the time due to dehydration. I'm a teacher so I'm having trouble remembering to sip all day. What is a helpful schedule to go by to get all my fluids in? I have got to get some energy fast! I'm supposed to drink at least 64 oz of water and 80 g of protein daily. I'm barely getting in 1/3 of that requirement...

Hi, another teacher here! I struggle at times to get liquids in too.I try to get liquids in right away in the morning and eat Breakfast when I get to school. I sip when I can (always have a bottle of Water on my desk) and drink on my prep. I have a 40 minute commute to and from school so whenever I'm in the car I try to have water with me. If you haven't tried the ready to go Premier Protein drinks they have 30 grams of Protein. The taste is well...not too bad :) Congrats on your surgery and good luck!

I too recommend Premier Protein shakes. Lots of Protein and 11oz of Fluid that I am allowed to count towards my water/fluid goal. I drink a lot of pink lemonade crystal light as well. For me, I take 3 Water bottles(48oz) with me to work and it helps me visually see where I'm at throughout the day. Good luck.

I'm exactly a week out from surgery (had mine on March 9th), and I am experiencing the exact same problem! I have a huge Water bottle that I try to bring every where with me (I think it's about 30-40 oz), and that helps, but I very rarely finish the whole thing. I am planning on trying the premier Protein shakes like others have suggested. I will suggest to NOT get the GNC Unflavored Protein powder.... It's gross lol. I figured it would be a great way to add Protein and it gives everything a very chalky taste. I am hoping to get some vanilla Protein Powder to help with making protein smoothies, and hopefully that will help. Good luck!!

Hi, am 3 weeks post op, am trying a shake that my nutritionist recommend it's called infusion bariatric. I make it in water. That helps. I used to chunk on water now it's hard to go with 8 cups a day, remember it's either water or food at one given time. So another thing is choosing fruits that contain lots of water to compensate. Hope it helps

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
