Sbrides 0 Posted March 16, 2016 I am only 8 days out of surgery and I am constantly experiencing tightness/cramping with pretty much anything I swallow. Is this normal? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted March 16, 2016 Yes. This lasted about 2 weeks for me. Every tiny sip of anything caused constriction and spasms in my esophagus. Then some gurgling in the back of my throat. And then, sometimes, burping. But it got much better once all the swelling went down. Just make sure that once you are onto soft foods, you chew VERY thoroughly and eat VERY slowly. And measure out all of your food in advance. Don't try to eat more than two ounces in one sitting.

SassyNanny 311 Posted March 20, 2016 My Dr told me no Jello right after surgery because it can go down in chunks if you don't chew it and can cause a blockage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
