What did YOU do to celebrate entering "One-derland"?

Recommended Posts

At my weekly weigh-in, I was officially under 200 lbs; a weight I haven't seen in more than 16 years!

I want to Celebrate but can't think of anything special to do that is affordable and not food-related.

Surely many of you have celebrated this milestone.... what did YOU do to mark the occasion?

(PS let the record show that I'm very grateful to have this problem, lol)

Congratulations! I'm just one pound away and I hope to get there this week. I was thinking a new swim suit might be a good reward. We are already at 90 here in Texas today.

I'm nowhere close, but I plan on going horseback riding and buying a pair of awesome boots when I get there. I've always had really thick calves, so it would be wonderful to be able to wear boots.

As for affordable things, a new swimsuit or other piece of clothing that makes you feel awesome. A stylish new haircut, a massage, a mani-pedi. Something to make you feel good.

Oooh, a horseback riding lesson... That would be a wonderful way to celebrate! I used to be an avid horsewoman but haven't been on a horse in 20 yrs or more due to my wt.

Congrats!

I am about 20 lbs from onederland. I suppose I should start thinking about my "prize". One thing that became apparent this morning is that by the time I hit onederland I am going to need to buy some new jeans. I just got into my smallest "skinny" jeans - size 18 -- no W!!! These jeans have to be about 10 years old and from the shape they are in, I didn't wear them very long. I am taking a load of clothing to the consignment store this weekend so I may have to check out the smaller size jean selection - IN THE MISSES SECTION!!! By the time I reach onederland I may need to get 14s.

You know, I've been looking at new swimsuits as the one I have is starting to get big. I think that will be my celebration. I will have to pay retail for a suit since that's not something I want to wear used. Kind of like underwear! Besides, I am training for a triathlon so that suit is kind of necessary. :) They frown on nekkid at the rec center! :D:PB)

Congrats again. Can't wait to hear what you what you choose!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
