I'd really appreciate a sleeve buddy, its frustrating trying to talk to firends that have no idea what I'm going through.

I would love to be a buddy. I too had the sleeve done in Aug 2016. I have signed up for other buddies but I never could find their questions or responses, I would really enjoy it because I notice we are about in the same weight bracket, except I was a lot heavier than you at the time of surgery. So, if you don't mind me flopping around looking for your posts I would be really happy to be your buddy. Let me know. Have a good one.

I am a 29F from NJ but my surgery is not until 3/25/16 so I am a few weeks behind you. I somewhat get where you are coming from I only have one friend I talk to (she is working towards a lap-band to sleeve revision) other than her I have not told anyone because I do not want to deal with the lack of understanding she experience with our mutual friends. . . How are you going so far? I am excited about it but nervous about silly things like losing my hair, how am I going to hide it when I go out for dinner with people or when I bring it up with a new guy I am dating.

Since August I have lost over 50lbs. but I had to go one year before monthly and in that year I lost 100lbs but still have a way to go. I was extremely heavy. I look back and can't believe what I let myself do to myself. Yes, there are times when I feel like I am eating more, and I am. I worry I have stretched my stomach as they told me you could. It worries me. But then other days I am ok and barely eat anything.I really don't understand and I am in a wheelchair so exercise is very limited. I have gone down 3-4 sizes in clothes. That make me feel pretty good, In fact I am hungry right now!

I agree with you completely, eventhough I had always accepted my weight I would always think..How did I let myself gain this much weight. I still think that is amazing you're down 4 sizes and don't worry you do what you can. I'm also worried that in time I'll go back to my old habits and stretch out my stomach .

I worry about that everyday. And also some-days I just can't get in all my Protein and have proper meals, I only eat yogurt, my shakes with up cal in one, and Cereal because we are on the run ll the time. I am walking more and trying to exercise from the wheelchair. The doctor, not my surgeon my regular doctor is making me feel horrible because some days my legs are so sore I can't even touch them and all he says is "you gotta do it anyway no pain no gain". Sometimes the pain won't let me. I am not a sissy but to hear him talk I am. It just brings my mood down and makes me doubt myself.

No way don't ever doubt yourself, you can only push your body so far. Take everyday one day at a time and don't over do it. I have faith in you.

How are you doing? I wanted to share with you that I lost 5lbs. last week, I had gained a few and couldn't figure out why so I went back to keeping a food log with calorie counts. I was amazed at how much I was going over our agreed upon total, which is 1200, my surgeon I came to an agreement on this. Wow! I was not intentionally going over, nut I was surprised when I went back to logging again. Think I better stick with the logging. How's your journey going? Keep me posted. This past week has been really rough for me my very best friend passed away suddenly last Friday. I have a hole in my heart , I miss her but she always wanted me to succeed. She was one of my main cheerleaders and I just keep thinking of her telling me to keep on going. Hope to hear from you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
