022816 5 Posted March 14, 2016 I'm having the gastric balloon in a couple of weeks and I'm not telling any friends or family. I want to be sure it works first, and then I'll decide if I want to share it. I don't want to be influenced by anyone else's opinion. Susanslosin 12 Posted March 19, 2016 Someone who I know had the surgery a couple of years ago and when anyone asked about how she lost so much weight ,her response was I eat A LOT less! Best answer ever..... Totally truthful!
Jewel961 11 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) The only people I told were my husband, sister and my children. I don't believe it's anyone else's business. If someone comments or asks how I've lost so much, I simply tell the, the truth in that I watch everything that goes in my mouth, I cut way back on portions and I move a lot more than before. All true, just not all the truth. Don't let anyone tell you this is the easy way out. There's still a lifelong commitment to be made and nurtured! Best of luck to you! VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted March 22, 2016 You're afraid of being judged. And you're going to announce your WLS on Facebook? What could possibly go wrong?

cbuck1212 17 Posted April 13, 2016 I went on Facebook shortly before my surgery after first making sure that I told family and close friends first. I have had no negative comments and lots of prayer and support. For me it worked well. I will keep updating. I never mentioned my starting weight- no one's business- but I am posting losses and if there is a gain or stall I will post those too. It is a way to make me accountable. Dinks97420 52 Posted August 6, 2016 I have chosen to keep it to myself other than husband, son, sisters and four very close friends. I am sure once the weight starts coming off the questions will start to come. I have received such negativity and judgement from being over weight I really don't want any more. When the time comes it will tell those who are supportive of me. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
