I'm so glad you got the care you needed and have a diagnosis and medical care for the ulcer. That must have been awfully scary. That was a lot of blood loss.

I'm five months out and have been feeling sorry for myself that I don't feel any better than where I am right now. It helps to hear other people have similar experiences. I just keep plugging away. It does get better! Just more slowly for some people

On the Protein shakes. I could not handle the powder shakes mixed with Water. I use two Protein drinks that are premixed - Premier Protein has chocolate, strawberry and vanilla and I do not let myself run out of it because it is my Breakfast almost every single day; Isopure comes in a variety of fruit flavors, my favorite is Blue Raspberry but I also like Apple Melon and Grape Ice. Premier Protein drinks have 30 grams of Protein and Isopure has 40 grams. I still have a lot of problems eating meat so I often sip on Isopure during the day. As for unflavored powder, I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored. It is high quality and mixes well with things. I use it to make high protein pudding mostly because that is easy for me to digest but you can put it in Soups to umph up the protein as well. Wish you all the best and will send prayers for your continued healing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
