Walked with our two teens this morning to Breakfast.........teens leaving this eve and little ones coming tomorrow afternnoon for a few days!

Eva you are a knockout! I love your new haircut and the color is so pretty!

I love having the bodybugg - it is such a help to get me out and going more than usual - makes me want to get that colorie deficit larger and larger!..............Julie - had my consult today with the BB trainer and I did learn lots of little fun things with the program that I had not known about!........lots of clicks here and there to give more info. Have to play some more with the program! Learning how important it is to "accurately" account for those calories in.

Tracy - look at how great you are doing!

Eva, thanks for the picture, you are truly beautiful. There are so many gorgeous banded ladies!

Good job everyone on the "Just Say NO!" mission! Someone in my family stole my little zip lock baggie full of Hershey Kisses, so no chocolate for me today!

Came home from my trip hoping I had lost...does that EVER happen? Well, it didn't. But my weight did stay exactly the same. Let's hear it for the benefits of a solid plateau! Gotta break soon.

Well, it was my birthday weekend and all we did was EAT and I didn't wear my BB at all, so we'll see how the weight did. That said, I DID do my long training run on Saturday -- 15 miles -- so that should keep things pretty much in balance.

It baffles me that I can run 15 miles (in 2:58). Life is freakin' weird. A year ago (I just looked back at my chart, since it's my birthday) I weighed 292. I was SO HAPPY to be back in Twoterville. Now, I run 15 miles. Rock on. I wonder what next year will hold. Goal, whatever that may be, I'm sure. The last major PS, I hope. Adjustment to "normal" life? I don't know.

Thank you, band. Thank you, my sweet band friends. I love you all!

Happy Birthday Julie! You are an amazing girl - your band sure helped, but you did this - you did all that you were supposed to do and you got your butsky out the door every day to run those miles! Keep going - can't wait to see how georgous you are going to be at goal!

It wasn't my BD week-end, I didn't wear my BB - I ate too much, but I did go on several big walks!!! I think another fill is in my near future! Don't know if I'll ever make my original goal - thinking again maybe I'll settle for what's happening now - sure wish I would make up my mind???? Ah, well - I guess for an old, gray haired grammy this may have to "be good enough".

Uhm, the scale jerked me back to reality with a SEVEN pound gain from the weekend. Now, come on, scale, don't be ridiculous. I couldn't have eaten enough to gain even 2 pounds, given the band and the fact that I ran 15 miles on Saturday. I'm sure it's Water retention from the run and just one of those fluke things. Alas, I'll be good this week and hopefully be back to my ticker weight by Friday.

Ran 4 miles this morning....

Julie, IGNORE the scale! Turn your back on it and don't look back this week (remember the pillar of salt?) You are a pillar of salt and your gain is from Water retention from muscles repairing themselves from your long run of...

15 MILES???

WOW! This is ONLY a time of celebration!!

Great time, too. Do you stop and walk at all? I have this weird idea that if I walk my run is over. I need to run my 5-6, walk and then start again.

Hey, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago. We are both Leos.

Betty, I don't think that you would be "settling" to accept where you are. You look great! I sincerely mean this. If I didn't know how much you weighed, I would guess you were 20-25 pounds lighter. I understand because I am stuck, too. We have to focus on the good things. A fill might not be the answer. Our bodies are recuperating from the loss. Normally, I would have gained it ALL back PLUS another 10+ pounds by now. Normally, I would be feeling desperate, looking for another diet and shamed to wear the old elastic-waisted pants again. Now THIS is normal! Being on a plateau is normal, even after a bad day with ice cream. We have to appreciate what we do have. You look so much younger than you are. Your face doesn't sag, even though you lost so much. I can be grateful I am still a DD (even though they do sag.) Beyond the appreciation, we must be vigilant and patient until it is our time to drop again. (We have each other to ride out this plateau.)

WHY is the scale so fickle, anyway??

Well, I had a strange procedure done. Ya know those broken spider veins on the legs from carrying so much weight and heavy babies? On Saturday I had them lasered. Prior to the procedure I asked if I could exercise. Of course, the answer was 'yes'. Afterwards I was told to avoid strenuous activity. UGH!!!! Now I can't run for a bit or it will ruin my legs. Maybe I'll swim, work upper body, or FINALLY give in to the call for crunches. At the gym there is a bike for arms. I'll kill myself on it, but must make my goal!!

Julie, I think my NY trip will be in March. I was coming in October, but have been assigned to Jury duty the week I was going to come. I'll give you more details when I get them in September.

Yes, have a nice week, sweet banded friends!

Gorgeous Eva how was your dreaded weekend?

Dawn are you kicking it, have you found us?

Amourette, Kat, Molly, et all, how are you?

PS: It is a good idea to NOT change the ticker to reveal a gain, unless it is semi-permanent. Good girl for being honest with us. The honesty is always difficult when it comes to a gain. I can hardly face myself, yet alone others. My own weight rides around 160 or 161 lots of days(including this morning), but until I see a 158 or lower, I am NOT changing my ticker. Who is the stubborn one? I WILL win in the end!

Boo,

YES, I walk some. I don't think it's cheating at all (not that you implied this -- just that some runners feel that way). I follow Jeff Galloway's method for first time marathoners, which is to run 8 minutes then walk 1 minute, from the very beginning. His methodology is that if you take walk breaks before you need them, you recover much quicker and can build longer distances without injury. Seems to be working for me (knock on wood). And, walking for 1 minute out of every 9 only loses 13 seconds off my time per minute, yet I feel SO MUCH BETTER at the end of a run. I'll trade feeling better for 13 seconds any day.

Got in 4 miles this morning in preparation for my date tonight, since I won't be able to get to the gym. We're going to a baseball game, so I've got to budget in beer and peanut calories for the day....not an easy task!

3 of the 7 lbs from the weekend came off overnight. My body seems to be expelling Fluid today, so maybe 2 or 3 more will come off tomorrow. We'll see.

Thanks for the message about where to find you guys... I am here.

My exercise is working pretty well. I ran all over Europe, every other day like clockwork and that worked well for me. So well in fact that I am going to continue that and supplement 3 days a week with weights and stretching.

Julie... 15 miles!!!!! What are you friggin wonder woman!!! You totally rock!!! You are also leaving me in the dust with weight loss... you are amazing and you should be so proud,.

Thanks for the invite Boo... you really are so kind.

I am happy with where I am and know that I am still going to progress.

Can't wait to see how we all do!!!

Ahh, yes.....3 more of the lbs came off last night. I thought that would be the case as I must have gone to the bathroom 20 times yesterday. You're right, Boo, there's something about distance running that makes your body hold onto Water like crazy. Anyway, I'm back to 158, so maybe tomorrow I'll actually be back to an accurate ticker!

Tonight, workout with the trainer....

My workout with the trainer was good. It always is. Too bad it's not more affordable because I'd love to do it 2 or 3 days a week instead of 1.

Dawn, I'm so glad you're back! Your running is awesome. You must be at a "normal" BMI now, no? At 5'2, I'm still 21 lbs away....It's not my week for the scale to move either, which is too bad because I'm really wanting the teens. Did you think a year ago we'd ever be at a place where we'd say we only wanting to lose X more lbs and that X be in the teens? Crazy.

I'm supposed to run 4 miles in the morning. I'm meeting a friend in the park for the run before work, so there's a good chance it'll actually get done. Then, just 9 on Saturday. It's a light week....

Hi,

Yeah... I only have 9 lbs to lose, but I have a feeling that I wil reset my goal to 149.9 That is the weight I need to be in order to be normal. I am 5'5''.

But I am also aware that I want to be realistic. This body has been through a lo and I need to honour that. If my body is strong and healthy and 155 is where is wants to stay then so be it. As well, I have that pesky loose skin and no plans for ps... so that is extra pounds just sitting there that I can't do anything about.

I had an okayish work out this a.m. I ran on the treadmill - trying out new shoes- and i hate the treadmill. I did my run, but it is really not inspired. I am definately an out door runner for sure. Saturday will be 11.5 km... and hopefully the weather will cooperate with me... but even if it doesn't I am gonna do it.

BTW... I have a line of work out clothes that I am LOVING... does anyone use Lululemon athletica? I know they have a location in NY at Lincoln Square. I ran in their shorts all summer and fell in love. I do not like compression shorts and I get really hot. And there pants are cute, colourful and very functional. Their website is lululemon athletica | home

and from there you can get a list of stores. Treat yourselves ladies!!!!!

Have a great Thursday!!

Thanks for the link, Dawn. I'll check out their store in Lincoln Center. I need tank style bras that I don't have to wear anything over but that have enough support. Maybe they'll have something good.

Got in my 4.5 miles this morning even though my friend cancelled. It was a really good run. I'm looking forward to my long run on Saturday....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
