Peanut butter!

Recommended Posts

Peanut Butter is a killer for me too. I LOVE IT. and I just eat the plain Adams brand with nothing added. Still super high calorie even without the sugar.

I shall try this stuff

My nut has told me no no peanut butter now.

They sell PB2 just about everywhere now. I used to have to buy it online only. I keep a large jar for when I'm craving peanut butter.. It's nice to make a chocolate, banana and Peanut Butter Protein Shake ;)

Okay - I too really like Peanut Butter - I use Justin's now when I want a little bit, as real stuff tastes better to me.

Biggest thrill that I've found this is that Jiff makes "Peanut Powder" and OMG is it ever amazing! Much better macros than PB2, and better flavor to my taste. One Tablespoon is only 23 calories, .7 g fat, 1.3 carbs and 2.7 protein! (based off their 3 T serving size stats).

I stir a tablespoon of it into my Fage yogurt with a bit of chocolate Protein Powder and sometimes a bit of stevia, and I'm a very happy girl, and it's really satisfying.

It's in the section with the regular Jiff peanut butters in my store.

I had to ban Peanut Butter from my house. I was mixing it into yogurt on a daily basis and was cheating the serving size. I went back to PB2 and while I don't like it as much, it serves it's purpose. The only time I use actual Peanut Butter (natural) in when I mix it into my overnight oats before a long weekend run.

I was happy to discover a brand of Peanut Butter I'd loved when I lived in New Zealand at a local grocery store. It's called Pic's Really Good Peanut Butter and it's yummy and has decent nutritional stats. For a 1 tablespoon serving there's 88 calories, 7 grams of fat, 1 carb, 1 gram of Fiber, and 5 grams of Protein. The only ingredients are peanuts and salt. Since I'm trying to be mindful about my carbs, it's great that it has quite a bit less than other brands. The downside it is that it's definitely more expensive. I also like making fresh peanut butter at Whole Foods.

I'm in the UK and have just bought my first PB2 from Amazon. Oh bliss, I can now get my Peanut Butter fix guilt free. I didn't dare use the proper stuff in a jar as before my VGS I had to slather my toast with butter and then load the peanut on top of that. Now, I can get that divine taste without the guilt. Anyone got any good recipes?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
