I think I have to do 4 weeks of the Optifast drinks before surgery. Anyone else? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

pswebb 38 Posted April 2, 2016 I'm set for April 25, 2016. First doctor visit was 07/15/2015 so it has been a long process. Start my liquid diet on April 11. Insurance is covering it, but with a $3200 deductible, it is still going to be difficult. I think insurance companies need to lower their requirements and speed up the process. If it weren't for my stubborn determination, I would have given up. I can't wait!
mskittykat03 113 Posted April 3, 2016 I'm set for 4/13 ...no time yet. Started my program in May 2015 so it's been a long process. The nice part is that there is no pre op diet per say. Only Clear liquids the day before. Even I can do that. . . Jello counts. Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App

I'm relived because I've heard so many that have had to go two weeks with clear liquids before surgery. Let me know how your surgery goes.

Steph~L~16 168 Posted April 3, 2016 It's interesting to me the different requirements among surgeons. My pre op diet is a lot less strict than some I have heard. They said I just need to stick to 1000 calories per day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
