butterfly23 423 Posted March 11, 2016 Is anyone else getting tons of poptart ads on their mobile BP app? I love BP and know they need sponsors and to make revenue but please, I really do not want to think about poptarts!!!
Proud2BMe 1,016 Posted March 11, 2016 Eh. Pop Tarts don't bother me and especially since they discontinued my favorite flavors years back. I was addicted to the chocolate poptarts with the vanilla cream and the apple poptarts with white frosting. They replaced the chocolate ones with the Cookies and cream oreo ones and now they only make the unfrosted apple ones with cinnamon sprinkled on them (gross). I was such a pig back then. I would smother them with butter and eat like 4 or 5 in one sitting. No more!
Dub 9,922 Posted March 11, 2016 There are no less than 4 different flavors of Pot Tarts in the food pantry here at the house. Everyone else loves them. I reach past them to get to my Protein powder canisters. Once I eliminated the junk from my diet the cravings for such crap went away. I don't even notice the stuff anymore. Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted March 11, 2016 Where are you guys seeing these ads? On the website? Within the app? Generally Google will serve you ads based on sites you've previously visited. We've done away with most of the google ads but a few still exists as you're aware. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I just saw that add for pop tarts within the app, it looks like it does when someone makes a post in a thread but sure enough it's an add for pop tarts. It says it's a sponsored add. Oh and just FYI I have never done a search on pop tarts, never could stand those things
lifeofblair 308 Posted March 11, 2016 Yep, I'm getting all sorts of adds in the app. Pop tarts, yahoo, and Apple Music are the common ones.

butterfly23 423 Posted March 12, 2016 I realize BP is free and that they need to generate revenue so I am ok with ads. Since this is the rant and raves section, thought it would be ok place to rant about not wanting to think about pop tarts. I am genuinely happy for those of you who can look past them, not think about them etc. Upon reflection, I realize that I am MUCH more sensitive when on BP. Makes sense, this is the hardest transformation and change I have embarked on in my life and when I come here I allow myself to be vulnerable and try and do healing work by dealing with my demons while being inspired by others. I think that is why the ads triggered me yesterday and I am able to look past the triggers in almost all other areas of life (am I the only one that gets more butt hurt on BP than anywhere else in my life? Like this post it often is resolved with some reflection and distance). It isn't BP or anyone's job to take care of me or not trigger me, but I do appreciate the rants and raves section to be able to share my irrational rants so I can let go, and perhaps figure out another piece to my healing. BTW, the ads were on my iPhone with the latest version, never seen them otherwise.
