plakbusta 1 Posted March 11, 2016 Does anyone have any tricks for eliminating the foam that forms after a blending a Protein Shake? I can tolerate the shakes but all that foam just literally makes me gag. I use a ninja or a Blender Bottle and get the same results no matter how little I blend it. It's preventing me from getting in all my Protein.< /p> Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted March 11, 2016 What happens if you let it sit for a while? Try making a batch ahead and putting it in the refrigerator.
Spiceyfrog 269 Posted March 11, 2016 I just use a shaker bottle now (used to use ninja) and after I shake it, I let it sit for about five minutes, then pour it into another cup with some ice and 90% of the foam is gone. As far as I know, there is no way around it.
plakbusta 1 Posted March 11, 2016 I'll try letting it sit for awhile before I drink to see if it that helps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
nlo127@live.com 22 Posted March 15, 2016 I had to stop blending my shakes for that reason and drink the pre-made ones. The frothiness made me nauseous and want to gag. Thanks for the advice guys! daniotra 298 Posted March 15, 2016 My son is on a specialized formula as he is tube fed. I found that putting the formula in a covered container and smacking the bottom of the bottle on the counter a few times knocks a lot of the bubbles out. I pour it into a bottle, screw on the lid, then bang the bottom flat against the counter three of four times. If he's being extra sensitive, I can then pour the bottom layer out as it is nearly bubble free. I've also noticed that certain brands are foamier than others. A different brand may be better for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
