Swelling post surgery

Recommended Posts

On Tuesday I had a revision from a band to a bypass. I am extremely swollen and actually weigh 9 pounds more than I did the morning of surgery. How long did the swellinglast for others before you saw actual weight loss. Thanks!

It's not swelling that causes the extra weight after surgery, it's all the Fluid they pumped into you to keep hydrated. Most people see this extra weight disappear within a week or two. I almost always see it go away for people within the first week.

Don't sweat it, the weight loss is coming very, very soon. Just stay hydrated, that's critical at this point in your healing, and hang in there! :)
