I am so frustrated with Barix clinic in Langhorne right now. I feel like they don't care about me as a patient at all! They faxed my insurance information to a wrong number at my insurance company, never called to follow up about a peer to peer review, now they've missed the window for the review, and have to appeal... Oh AND they have not called me or my insurance company AT ALL to check in. If this is the kind of care I receive BEFORE I am even a patient.... I think I am going to go somewhere else! It sucks that I have to start all over again, but this is ridiculous!

Totally understand, I was very frustrated with Einstein Bariatrics. The office staff at the time honestly had no clue. When my insurance denied me the Dr. would not do a peer to peer. I hired Lindstrom Advocacy and honestly wanted to switch doctors. Although, I had read very positive things about my doctor and knew two other people that gave rave reviews (they both had issues with poor follow through in the office). Lindstrom Advocacy worked wonders and I won the appeal. I was advised not to switch doctors if I felt comfortable with his skills as he would be performing the surgery not the office staff. I did not switch and am thrilled with how well my surgery went.

Long story short. I honestly understand your frustration. The waiting, the lack of follow through, and care on the part of the office staff put me over the edge. I actually gained 20 pounds in a couple of months (I'm a nervous eater) and my nerves were shot.

Good Luck to you!

Also try Temple Hospital for their Bariatric Program.....they have informational sessions a few times a month......there are 3 surgeons in this group (I'm using Dr. Clarke-my cousin used her and has been very satisfied).....In addition to performing the surgery and having office visits at Temple, the surgeons also see people at Jeanes Hospital *Temple's # for the Bariatric Clinic is: 215-707-3471*

I went to barix in langhorne w/ my aunt who had RNY by Dr Marymore 8 yrs ago. Met w/ Dr Marymore. Loved him. Met w/ nut- said I had to do 6mths nut. The ins. Dept were rude and didn't provide correct info. So I went to Mercy Fitzgerald to Dr Ramachandra. THE BEST!!!! His staff@Fitzgerald Mercy &Mercy Phila are THE BEST!!!! They made all appts, took care all paperwork & 2mths later.RNY was done. They tell you ahead of time whats needed to get approved. They have monthly nutrition & support group meetings. Also, you can have 1:1w/ nut so you can get in req ahead of time. PAguy go somewhere else

I didn't use Dr. Williams, but I can say that everyone I have interacted with in the system is great. The registered dietitians are amazing and I've been to the support group over at HUP as well. (My surgery was at Pennsylvania Hosp at 8th and Spruce). Best of luck!

Wow...good luck. I have to loose a bit of weight (5 pounds) before he'll see me again. I've had all of my tests done. Just trying to lose that weight. You and I are the same height and I weigh 217.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
