My surgery was March 7, 2016. I'm feeling good, still sore and a little nausepus. I'm 14 years old and one of the youngest patients my doctor has ever had. How long until the pain starts to go away? Or how long until I'll be able to start to do stuff normaly again?

Wow, 14!! Good for you and your parents for taking charge of your health at an early age. I'm scheduled for 4/15 and my 13 year old daughter will be attending with me since my husband has to work. I'm hoping that my eating better will help her to eat better and lose a few pounds. How are you feeling now that a few days have passed?

Wow, you are very brave! I don't know if I would have been able to take such a big step at your age. But, my life could have been so much different if I had had the option. I can't wait to hear about all the good things that come about for you, not only because of the weight loss, but because you have made such a mature decision.

To answer your question, I don't know for sure how long it will take, but it shouldn't take long. Focus on sipping your fluids and Protein, and walking when you can (it will help with the gas pain).

The sooner you can get in all of your Protein and fluids the sooner you will start to feel better and to get back to normal.

Take it easy and rest and follow your surgeon's instructions.

My guess is that because of your age you will bounce back soon.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I want to cheer you on!

The pain won't last more than a week or two and it should get better and better each day. As tired as you might be and as counter-intuitive as it might seem, getting up and moving will make you feel better and give you more energy. So get up and walk for a couple of minutes (even just marching in place) every hour or two. Also, if you are having any trouble sipping and getting your Water in, try marching in place as you sip. That helped me some.

For these next several days, focus on sipping your Water, getting in as much Protein as you can, and getting up and moving regularly.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
