Insurance approval timeline (GEHA)

Greetings everyone!

How long did it take GEHA to approve you for surgery? I have none of their listed co-morbidities, but I have degenerative discs in my lower back, arthritis in my back & knees, IBS, chronic fatigue, & chronic migraines...none of which they care about though.

I'm 5'0", 204.8 lbs & my BMI is right at 40...so I can't afford to lose any weight or I will surely be disapproved! I've completed blood work, 2 of my req'd 6 mo supv weight mgmt, psych eval, nutritional class, chest x-ray, abdominal ultrasound...upper endoscopy scheduled for next mo and I will be done with my weight mgmt sessions by 3 July. So based on your experiences, approx how soon can I look forward to an approval/response from GEHA?
